The beginnings of Asatium are quite obscure. As the histories, and King Artileo's letters tell us, it was once a simple fortress built in a defendable position but little else is known.
A rather large semi-circular city built into the side of a mountain. There is a river nearby for trading, and two roads that lead up to the city. On the left side of the city is a considerably lower wall protecting the triangular temple of the Holy Trinity.
At the center of the city is an ancient wall separating the Keep from the rest of the city. Something about this wall seems eerie, out of place, mystical.
The architecture of the city is Gothic in nature, multi-storied magnificent buildings, and an overabundance of spires.
The economy of Velhamira, and therefore Asatium, is a typical feudal-medieval one. A child inherits the profession that his father held, that his father before him held.
Steadily, the cost of items -both necessary for living, and frivolous- have been rising over the years. But the wages have remained relatively the same. People are finding that their money just doesn't go as far as it used to.
Standard coins: Gold, Silver, Copper.
Arbitrary exchange rates (between gold and silver, for example), subject to change without notice.
The main jobs of the region are miners, smiths (weapons, jewel-crafting, you name it), and military men.
Asatium imports most of its food, because the soil is rocky, and so not much can be grown aside from durable, robust grains such as corn, rye, and barley.
They catch fish in the river and breed some livestock.
The staple diet of a citizen is bread, a meat soup with corn, and alcohol.
The weather of Northern Behlmina, and consequently Asatium, is stormy, thus humid. But not hot; the temperature is mild.

The Inner Ring: The oldest region of the city. This is the only region of Asatium in which the buildings appear to be placed haphazardly - the rest of the city is organized and the roads are created to make for ease of travel through the city. The Inner Ring, however, is older than the rest of the city and older than even many of the Lordling families throughout Velhamira. This is the fort that Artileo based his operations from. The walls are much higher than the rest of the city's walls and thicker as well. It is common knowledge that the walls are impregnable. The gates are made from an alien metal with strange etchings - both what appears to be writing and pictographs.
The Western Quarter: The most spacious quarter of the New City.
